Who Am I?

My name is Nathan Gawel and I am wine enthusiast. My wife and I have been living in Chicago for the past couple of years. She is one of the main reasons I got into wine, or should I say because of her industry...Media. Because of the nature of media, we have been taken out to wine tastings or events where wine is the appropriate drink.

At first I was tasting wine just because it was in front of me, but before I knew it I was able to pick out the tastes, flavors, and even pin point regions in which the wine was from. Better yet, I was starting to enjoy the wine.

I have now been taking wine more serious for about two years. Granted my level of expertise is only at the novice level, but who better to discuss wine to a beginner than someone who is going through the learning process themselve. I wanted to write what I learn as I learn it. I hope this site provdies at least a little bit of knowledge about wine or at least answers the question that lead you here. Some of my favorite sections on this site are the pictures from my wine trips, neat wine facts, and the history of wine.
